UPDATE APRIL 2022 the studio has been equal parts respite & laboratory. I haven't pressured myself to rise or shine through the past chaotic couple years, instead invested creative energy in general day-making and volunteering for  fellow artists. The question bushel I am exploring with my studio practice right now centers around attempting to make art that doesn't leave a full dumpster in the wake of it's making.  I've been recycling wood & other objects into tables that attract gathering in thier unusual forms/funcitons. This was definitely also a response to pandemic era loneliness. I couldn't wait to share tables with people. Moss is my favorite plant. (period!) If you're in my life it's a thing you know about me. I have been given a "really neat type of moss I found and thought of you" on more than one occasion, and I always think to myself WOW- that person knows me and loves me. I've been backyrad experimenting for years trying to create a sustainable environment to keep the moss green & thriving in a sculptural environment. I can't wait to make more of these objects.
