Designed to slow traffic and encourage a break from routine, Rules of Play reclaims the pavement space for public use in a nontraditional manner. From above, Rules of Play appears like a medicine wheel or target, on the ground- community members are challenged to invent and conquer the game. Numbers and contemporary media symbols, that have become common language no-matter age or country of origin, suggest game action but ultimately players are offered an experience akin to that of any given day... they must make it up as they go along. Web and media presence is an intentional and uncontrollable aspect of the work. Players are encouraged to engage using a hash-tag to share their #rulesofplaympls online.
